Title: TOUCHED
Summary: Leah has always known she was different, it was hard not too when you see things that people normally don't. Not to mention, her family has a knack for disappearing...and ending up in the crazy house.When her mother disappeared from her locked bedroom on her ninth birthday, Leah knew whoever was after them meant business. After almost nine years of keeping her head down, one new student threatens her silence.
TOUCHED-14Save the What Now?
I didn’t even have a chance to complete my ‘wha—?’ before I was tackled. We hit the ground and slid over the lemon-scented hardwood floors into the hallway. I experienced a flash of wonderment on how clean the floor was before pain chased the thought away. You gotta be kidding me! I caught a quick flash of red and rolled the same direction as the elbow that was heading toward my right temple and gathered my legs underneath me in a not so graceful scramble. The various things in my bag dug onto my back and I gritted my teeth against the throbbing on my lower back. “What the hell?”

TOUCHED-13 Here There Be Angels
There was only one way to find out. I wrestled a measure of control that I had earned by practice, by trial of errors, by blood and sweat and tears and a serious, almost fanatical application of compartmentalization. The measure of control that had saved me from reacting to things that I shouldn’t see, hear or feel, the measure of control that had let me maintained the pretense of normality.

I've been working on an original work. Keep in mind that it's still rough and probably have a lot of numerous mistakes including typos and grammar. I do have a beta reader, but currently she's traveling...somewhere and I really need opinions.
Title: TOUCHED
Summary: Leah Curran had always known that she was different. Not only did her her family members keep disappearing on her, she also saw things.. Granted, they're really not all that scary...but disturbing nonetheless.
But her mother, who went missing when she was nine years old from a locked bedroom of all places, was clear on the Rules;
1. Don't attract attention. Stay low, keep cool and avoid any kind of attention.
2. Ignore. Ignore. Avoid.
3. Never, ever show them that you see them.
She did that easily enough for seven years...until summer break ended and a new boy came to town.
CHAPTER FIVE: Double, Double, Toil and Trouble
My heart tripped when he stopped chewing and really looked at me. For a few seconds, all I could see were his eyes, time seemed to slow and everything else were only smudges of dull moving color. I felt weightless and dizzy, and disconnected. I couldn’t feel the floor I was standing on, the tray that I was holding. It was like I was cut adrift and floating into space.
My brain buzzed loudly.
